Getting Started

This guide walks you through creating your Elastic Time account and configuring your initial settings.

Creating Your Account

  1. Visit the registration page and enter your details:

    • Name - Your display name
    • Email - Used for login and notifications
    • Password - Choose a secure password
  2. After registering, you’ll receive a verification email. Click the link to verify your email address.

  3. Once verified, you can log in and start using the application.

Initial Setup

After logging in for the first time, we recommend configuring these settings in Preferences:

Company Information

If you plan to generate invoices, set up your company details:

  • Company Name - Your business or trading name
  • Address - Your business address (appears on invoices)
  • Phone - Contact number
  • Email - Business email for invoices

Invoice Settings

Configure default invoice behavior:

  • Tax Label - The label for tax (e.g., “VAT”, “GST”, “Sales Tax”)
  • Tax Rate - Default tax percentage
  • Currency - Your preferred currency
  • Footer Text - Payment terms or additional information

Your First Client

To start tracking time effectively:

  1. Go to Clients and create your first client
  2. Add a project under that client
  3. Optionally, add billing information if you plan to invoice

Logging Your First Activity

  1. Navigate to Activity
  2. Fill in the description of what you’re working on
  3. Set the start and end times
  4. Optionally, select a project, add tags, and personal notes
